Alphario Vol. 1 (2011) was first released under the name Alphario Vol. 1 on November 19, 2011 at Komikon 2011. The book was a collaborative effort between Splgum, artists PenguinFrontier, Saint-Chimaira, and Mazjojo, and Inkjinks Label. After Stryler took the place of PenguinFrontier as head artist the following year, a reboot was released on April 2013 under the same title, containing more pages and follow-up events to the original book. The book was rebranded as Alphario Vol. 1 (2011) in 2013 and as Alphario Vol. 0 in early 2014. It was later renamed back to Alphario Vol. 1 (2011) in January 2015 after the creators decided to start working on a prequel to the series.

Dennis Blake wins a photo competition and is awarded an all-expense paid trip to the country of his dreams, Japan. Eventually, he realizes through situations and surroundings that not everything is as it seems: that he is part of a bigger agenda, and that everything had been planned right from the very beginning.

Alphario Vol. 1 (2011) is currently out of print.
